VOICED : Estudiantes chilenos vuelven a marchar por gratuidad educativa

Thousands of Chilean students marched in Santiago demanding the acceleration of universal free education. The current system only benefits 15% of university students, excluding poorer students from IP and CFT institutions. The reform seeks to dismantle the education system established during Pinochet's dictatorship, allowing 145,000 students to study for free for the first time in 35 years. However, students find this number insufficient and aim for 100% free enrollment. They plan to intensify their protests if the government continues its market-driven approach. Organizers reported around 100,000 participants in the second student march of 2016.
