Kia Motors announced a $1 billion investment to build its first plant in Mexico, aiming to boost its annual sales by 300,000 units and strengthen its position as a global market leader. Mexico has become the leading automobile producer in Latin America and ranks seventh worldwide. The country's vehicle production increased by 7.5% in the first seven months of the year compared to 2013. Since President Peña Nieto's term began in 2012, new plants worth $10 billion have been initiated, creating approximately 28,000 jobs.
