SS Flying Enterprise lists drastically after storm damage in 1951

On December 27th, 1950, the American freighter Flying Enterprise faced a severe storm in the Atlantic Ocean. The ship, carrying a $2,000,000 cargo from Hamburg to New York City, was severely damaged by hurricane-force winds and massive waves. The storm cracked the deck, causing the ship to take on water and eventually roll over, unable to right itself.
