VOICED : Quito avanza hacia el desconfinamiento por la pandemia del coronavirus

Quito has begun its economic reactivation after 11 weeks of confinement, resuming urban transport and allowing 50% of the workforce to return to work. Restaurants and malls have reopened, and the curfew has been reduced. Quito, with nearly 3,800 cases, is the second most affected city in Ecuador after Guayaquil. The pandemic has caused an estimated $12 billion in losses for Ecuador, which is one of the hardest-hit countries in Latin America, with around 41,000 cases and over 3,000 deaths. Ecuador ranks fourth in the region for COVID-19 fatalities, following Brazil, Mexico, and Peru.
