¿Qué son los cometas?

Comets are icy bodies formed from particles clumped together after the formation of gas giant planets. They orbit the Sun, with long-period comets taking over 200 years and short-period comets taking less than 200 years. Comets have a nucleus and develop tails as they approach the Sun, due to evaporation. Over time, comets lose material and eventually disintegrate.
