San Chapelle in Paris is a prime example of High Gothic art, known for its stained glass windows. In 1239, Saint Louis of France acquired the Crown of Thorns and other relics, prompting the construction of this grand reliquary in 1243. The upper chapel features 15 glass walls, each 50 feet high, crafted by artists using five colors. The windows depict biblical stories, with each piece hand-painted using the grizzel technique, allowing for detailed expressions and fabric details.
