Preperations for Golden Jubilee River Pagent

A grand flotilla of vessels will pass under Tower Bridge, featuring the Queen's barge, Spirit of Chartwell, designed to resemble a train. The barge is being refitted to echo royal barges of the 17th and 18th centuries. The event, costing £12 million, is privately funded and aims to be a significant celebration, potentially surpassing the Olympics. On the day, the flotilla will stretch over two miles, passing major London sites before ending at Greenwich.
