VOICED: Caravaggio comes home to sumptuously restored Genoan villa

The Villa del Principium in Genoa, once forgotten, has been restored over the past decade. Originally built in the 16th century, it remains in the hands of the original admiral's descendants. Since reopening to the public in 1997, continuous efforts have been made to restore its original beauty. Historians believe Caravaggio visited the villa, and his painting 'Rest on the Flight into Egypt' is a highlight of an ongoing exhibition. The family acquired this and another painting, 'The Penitent Magdalen,' for a modest sum, offering visitors a glimpse into Renaissance art.
