Jeff Sessions To Reportedly Announce Bid For Former Senate Seat

Jeff Sessions is expected to announce his candidacy for his former U.S. Senate seat in Alabama, just before the filing deadline. Sessions served in the Senate for 20 years before joining the Trump administration, where his relationship with President Trump deteriorated after recusing himself from the Russia investigation. Trump later asked him to resign. Currently, Democrat Doug Jones holds the seat. If Sessions enters the race, he will face several Republican candidates in the Alabama GOP primary scheduled for March 3rd.
