7 States, D.C. Hold Presidential Primaries Amid Protests And Pandemic

On Tuesday, voters in seven states and Washington DC participated in primaries, with a focus on early voting and mail-in ballots. Despite these options, long lines were reported, especially in DC, where a curfew was not enforced for voters. The Democratic primaries saw Joe Biden projected to win all seven states, with 479 delegates at stake. Bernie Sanders was expected to gain some delegates as well. In the Republican primaries, Senators Mike Rounds and Steve Daines were projected to win, while Steve King lost his seat to Randy Feenstra in Iowa.
