In Part 2 of 1984, Winston receives a secret note from Julia, leading to a series of clandestine meetings. They express their mutual disdain for the Party and rent a room from Mr. Charrington for privacy. O'Brien, a Party official, reveals his allegiance to the Brotherhood and gives Winston Goldstein's book. As Winston reads the book, he learns about the Party's manipulation tactics. However, their sanctuary is compromised, and they are captured by the thought police, revealing Mr. Charrington's true identity.
