In 1929, Army pilots Carl Tuohy Spatz and Ira Aker undertook a seven-day flight without landing, known as the Question Mark flight, to demonstrate the feasibility of aerial refueling. The flight path included passing over Mrs. Spatz's parents' home, where she showed her daughter the plane. Despite the child's dismissive view, the flight successfully proved the practicality of refueling.
