Palestine has officially joined the International Criminal Court (ICC), marking a significant step in its diplomatic and judicial efforts. This move allows for the possibility of prosecuting Israeli officials for alleged war crimes. Despite skepticism about the effectiveness of this action, given Israel's non-signatory status to the Rome Statute, Palestinians are hopeful that the ICC can address crimes committed in member territories. President Mahmoud Abbas has authorized investigations into alleged crimes since June 2014.
