VOICED : Excarcelan a vicepresidente del Parlamento tras pacto entre Maduro y grupo opositor

Edgar Zambrano, Venezuela's parliamentary vice president, was released following talks between Nicolás Maduro's government and a section of the opposition, excluding Juan Guaidó. Detained in May for supporting a military rebellion, Zambrano must report to court monthly and cannot leave the country. He announced the release of 58 more political prisoners. The release was part of an agreement between Maduro's government and minor opposition parties, bypassing Guaidó. According to NGO Foro Penal, 478 people are considered political prisoners in Venezuela. NGOs suggest these releases are used by Maduro as leverage to maintain power.
