VOICED : España apoya diálogos de paz entre gobierno de Colombia y ELN

Spain has expressed its willingness to act as a guarantor in the peace process between Colombia and the ELN guerrilla group. This was announced by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez during his meeting with Colombian President Gustavo Petro in Bogotá. The peace talks with the ELN were previously suspended by former President Iván Duque following a 2019 attack. The lack of communication between guerrilla negotiators and militants has delayed the resumption of talks. Sánchez is on a Latin American tour, which includes visits to Ecuador and Honduras, and plans to hold a summit between the EU and Latin America next year.
