VOICED : Catar reabre su Museo de Arte Islámico a 46 días del Mundial

The Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar has reopened after 18 months of renovations, just 46 days before the World Cup. Originally opened in 2008, it is the largest Islamic art museum in the region and possibly the world. Designed by the late architect Y.M. Pei, the museum's structure remains unchanged, but its collections have been expanded, with two-thirds of the pieces being new. The museum now provides historical and cultural context for its exhibits. As the World Cup approaches, Qatar is promoting its culture by opening a Sports Museum and installing public artworks.
