Harmful Drugs: Heroin

Heroin, derived from morphine in the opium poppy, appears as a white or brown powder. It is mixed with various substances and is highly dangerous. As a depressant, it slows brain function and acts as a painkiller, leading to addiction by hijacking the brain's feel-good chemicals. Heroin use can slow the body, risking coma or death, and using needles can spread infections like hepatitis and HIV.
