Discovery of Amazon Sortis: A New Genus of Dinosaur in the Ancient Amazon Basin

Palaeontologists in Brazil discovered a new dinosaur genus, Amazon Soros, which lived 110 million years ago. This small sauropod, about 10 meters long and weighing 10 tons, had light bones that might have enabled it to stand on its hind legs to reach food. Fossil similarities between Brazil and northwestern Africa support the theory that South America and Africa were once part of a supercontinent.
