COVID-19 Testing Rules Reportedly Issued Against Scientists' Wishes

The New York Times reported that new guidelines suggest asymptomatic individuals exposed to COVID-19 may not need testing. These guidelines were authored by the Department of Health and Human Services, not CDC scientists, but were posted on the CDC's website. CDC Director Robert Redfield stated that the guidelines were coordinated with the White House and received input from coronavirus taskforce experts.
