Over 70 years after WWII, seven paintings are returned to Jewish families from whom they were stolen by the Nazis. The French Minister of Culture, Aurélie Filippetti, led a ceremony attended by the grandson of Richard Neumann, an industrialist who escaped concentration camps but lost part of his estate. The event highlights the importance of property rights in a civilized society and honors France's efforts in restoring these rights. After three years of investigation, six paintings were confirmed to belong to the Neumann family. An estimated 2,000 artworks stolen by Nazis remain in French museums awaiting restitution.
