UK: Liz Truss MP wins the Conservative leadership contest and becomes the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Graham Brady, the returning officer, announced the results of the Conservative and Unionist Party leadership election. Out of 172,437 eligible voters, the turnout was 82.6%, with 654 votes rejected. Rishi Sunak received 60,399 votes, while Liz Truss received 81,326 votes, making her the new leader of the party.
