Japanese Adventurer Attempts Historic Pacific Crossing by Hot Air Balloon

Michio Kanda, a 54-year-old Japanese official, aims to become the first Japanese person to cross the Pacific Ocean by hot air balloon. Accompanied by Naoki Ishikawa, a university student, they plan to complete the 9000 km journey in 60 hours. Kanda's attempt follows the first successful crossing in 1991 by a British group including Richard Branson. Kanda's mission is to inspire others to pursue their dreams.
