A rare sexually transmitted disease may turn into a "superbug"

MG is a bacterium that can infect the urinary and genital tracts, causing symptoms like burning during urination and pain during sex. It is often misdiagnosed as chlamydia, leading to inappropriate treatment and antibiotic resistance. The British Association of Sexual Health and HIV recommends treating MG with doxycycline followed by azithromycin.
