A strong earthquake struck the island of Crete, particularly affecting the town of Arcaluchori. The quake occurred shortly after 9 AM, with a magnitude of 5.8 to 6.0. It resulted in one fatality and several injuries. The epicenter was located 346 kilometers south of Athens at a depth of 10 kilometers.
