WHO experts visited the Huanan market in Wuhan, China, to investigate the origins of COVID-19. The market, closed since January 2020, was where the first outbreak was detected. The Chinese government has been sensitive about the investigation, initially blaming wild animals sold at the market but later suggesting the virus may have been imported. Despite limited commentary from the Chinese government, they claim victory over the virus, reporting significantly lower infection and death rates compared to the USA.
