Six people were killed in a shooting at an addiction rehabilitation center in San Pedro Tlaquepaque, near Guadalajara, Mexico. The victims included five men and one woman, with ages ranging from 20 to 61. Jalisco, a state plagued by violence and home to the New Generation Drug Cartel, has seen rehabilitation centers targeted due to their use as hideouts by criminals. Since 2006, Mexico has experienced over 340,000 violent deaths linked to organized crime, following a controversial military anti-drug operation.
