Lewis Pugh made history by swimming the entire length of the River Thames, starting at the Welsh border and ending at the North Sea. Covering 327 kilometers, he swam in two-hour stints and slept on a support barge. Despite the Thames being clean, he was vaccinated against diseases. The swim, completed in 21 days, aimed to raise climate change awareness and successfully delivered a message to Prime Minister Tony Blair.
