Plant Hormones: Tropisms

Plants grow towards light and water due to tropisms, which are growth responses to stimuli. Positive tropisms involve growth towards stimuli, while negative tropisms involve growth away. Phototropism is growth in response to light, and geotropism is growth in response to gravity. Stems exhibit negative geotropism by growing upwards, while roots show positive geotropism by growing downwards. Plant growth is controlled by hormones, similar to humans.
