'Golden State Killer' Expected To Be Sentenced To Life Without Parole

Joseph James DeAngelo, known as the Golden State Killer, was a former police officer convicted of a series of violent crimes across California. He pleaded guilty to 26 charges, including rape and murder, committed in the 1970s and 1980s. DeAngelo was also known as the East Area Rapist and the original Night Stalker. He was captured in 2018 using DNA from a family ancestry website. Victims are expected to speak in court, and DeAngelo is likely to receive a life sentence without parole.
