A young Venezuelan violinist, who became a symbol of protests against President Nicolás Maduro, was released after 19 days in jail. He was charged with public instigation and possession of incendiary substances. His defense claims he was forced to use a public defender and was mistreated in prison, losing hearing in one ear. Arteaga aims to spread a message of peace amidst violent protests that have resulted in numerous deaths. Since the protests began, thousands have been arrested, with many still imprisoned.
