Hubble Space Telescope

The Hubble Space Telescope, a collaborative effort involving scientists and engineers from 13 countries, faced a major setback when its primary mirror was found to be flawed, preventing it from focusing properly. This issue was a significant blow to NASA and the Hubble program. However, a solution was devised in the form of COSTAR, a corrective optics system. In 1993, astronauts successfully installed COSTAR, allowing Hubble to capture sharp images and revolutionize our understanding of the universe by seeing further into space than ever before.
