Coyotes, once native to the American West, are now thriving in the Northeast. These East Coast coyotes are generally larger and more inclined to live near towns and cities. Despite their dog-like appearance, they are not friendly and should be avoided. If you encounter a coyote, maintain a safe distance and contact the authorities.
