Acadia National Park - Old Farm: Station Six

In 1878, the Dorr family chose a site for their farmhouse on a sea cliff facing the Gouldsboro Hills. While the main residence was being built, they constructed Storm Beach Cottage, which is still used by park staff today. Old Farm became renowned for its hospitality, attracting prominent figures from various fields. The veranda, with its unique brick flooring, was a place for significant conversations, including those between the Dorr family and philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr.
