VOICED : Presidente de Colombia recibe la Lampara de la Paz en Italia

Juan Manuel Santos, the Colombian President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, received the Peace Lamp in Assisi, Italy. He dedicated the award to the victims of Colombia's armed conflict and those willing to build a new society, indirectly referencing the Farc. Santos pledged to continue implementing the peace agreement with the guerrillas to end the long-standing conflict. His visit to Assisi was part of a trip to Italy and the Vatican, where he met with Pope Francis and former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe, a critic of the peace accords. The Pope's mediation did not yield positive results.
