The UK is recruiting amateur historians for a project to digitize over 1.5 million pages of WWI diaries. This initiative, called Operation War Diaries, is led by the National Archives, the Imperial War Museum, and Suniverse. Volunteers will transcribe and classify the diaries, which detail the experiences of officers on the Western Front from 1914 to 1918. The project is crucial as many records were lost during WWII bombings.
