The organized women's movement began in 1848 with a convention in Seneca Falls, New York, to address women's rights. The grievances of women were similar to those of American men against King George. While it took George Washington six years to address men's grievances through war, it took 72 years and over 1,000 legal enactments to secure women's rights by law. The journey of Woman's Suffrage was marked by hard work and heartache, ultimately leading to victory.
