In 1927, Charles Lindbergh won the Orteig Prize by flying nonstop from New York to Paris. He built the Spirit of Saint Louis with the help of local businessmen and the Ryan Aeronautical Company. Lindbergh prioritized fuel capacity and minimized weight by omitting non-essential equipment. After a record-setting test flight, he embarked on his transatlantic journey, overcoming challenges like fatigue. Upon landing in Paris, he was celebrated as a hero, known as 'Lucky Lindy'. His success was attributed to meticulous preparation and the best available technology.
