VOICED : The gospel band who sell mice kebabs

The Malawi Mouse Boys, a talented group of musicians from a remote village in Malawi, were discovered by a Grammy-winning producer. Despite living without electricity, they have recorded two albums, drawing on local influences to create unique African gospel music. Their debut album was the first in the Chichua language to gain international recognition, reaching Amazon's top 75 in 2012. They performed at the WOMAD Festival in Britain but returned to their village life. The band hopes to focus solely on music in the future, leaving behind their traditional livelihood of selling field mice.
