1946 China's First Cardinal

Cardinal Thomas, originally from China, is the first non-Caucasian to join the Sacred College. His journey from an orphan to a cardinal is marked by his education at St. Mary's and gratitude towards American support during the war. Due to silk shortages, his vestments are remodeled from those of Cardinal Mundelein. Thomas will travel to Rome with other cardinals to receive the Red Hat from Pope Pius XII.
