VOICED : Detenido en Italia el independentista catalán Puigdemont tras cuatro años fuera de España

Carles Puigdemont, a Catalan independence leader, was arrested in Italy after four years as a fugitive. He was detained upon arrival in Sardinia, where he was to attend a cultural festival. Puigdemont led Catalonia's 2017 independence movement, which was countered by Spain's central government. While his colleagues faced trial and were pardoned, Puigdemont fled to Brussels. Despite being an MEP, he lacks immunity, as ruled by the EU General Court. Spain accuses him of sedition and demands extradition.
