VOICED : Más de 30.000 militares y policías desplegados en Nicaragua para las elecciones

In Nicaragua, over 30,000 police and soldiers will secure the upcoming elections. The Electoral Tribunal has begun distributing voting materials to over 3,000 centers. Approximately 4.3 million Nicaraguans are expected to vote, with President Daniel Ortega seeking a fourth consecutive term amid a lack of significant opposition. The political opposition has been excluded, with several presidential hopefuls detained and parties banned. The government accuses them of treason and money laundering. Ortega, in power for 14 years, runs with his wife, Rosario Murillo, for vice-presidency. The elections will be monitored by 180 government-invited observers, as international bodies like the OEA and EU are not participating.
