VOICED : Ecuador se alista para elecciones generales

The Ecuadorian Electoral Council is distributing materials for the upcoming general elections, including 64.1 million ballots, to various provinces and international voting locations. The process will conclude a day before the elections, which will be monitored by international organizations like the OEA and UNASUR. Approximately 12.8 million Ecuadorians will vote for president, vice president, 137 deputies, and five Andean parliamentarians. A referendum will also decide on banning politicians from holding assets in tax havens. If no presidential candidate secures an absolute majority or 40% with a 10-point lead, a runoff will occur. Current president Rafael Correa will not seek re-election.
