Seashells on a mountain

The video explains the formation of the Alps, a mountain range in Europe, through the process of plate tectonics. Fossilized ammonites found at the summit indicate that the land was once underwater. Mountains are formed when sections of the Earth's crust, known as plates, collide and push the seabed upwards over millions of years, creating fold mountains. The Alps continue to grow as the African and Eurasian plates collide, rising by a millimeter each year.
