The Taming of the Shrew Introduction 2 Scene Summary

Christopher Sly is tricked into believing he is a Lord by a real Lord and his servant. They convince him of his noble status by describing the privileges he can enjoy, including having a beautiful wife. Sly, initially doubtful, eventually accepts his new identity. He is introduced to a page dressed as his wife, who suggests they take their reunion slowly to avoid Sly's 'sickness'. A messenger announces a play, and Sly agrees to watch it with his 'wife'. The play performed is 'The Taming of a Shrew'.
