U.S. Delays Next Round Of Tariffs On Chinese Goods

President Trump announced a delay in the planned 5% tariff increase on $250 billion worth of Chinese goods from October 1st to October 15th as a gesture of goodwill for China's 70th anniversary. This announcement followed China's decision to lift import taxes on over a dozen US products, effective September 17th for one year. The US-China trade war, ongoing since last year, has seen both countries imposing tariffs on each other's goods. Although tariffs were temporarily suspended earlier this year, they resumed after negotiations failed. Both nations are scheduled to resume trade talks next month.
