Despite this, anti-hemp propaganda in the 1930s led to the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act, banning hemp production in the U.S. until the Farm Bill was passed. Hemp is durable, easy to grow, and has a short harvesting cycle, making it ideal for fiber production. With over 50,000 uses, including in medicine, textiles, and cosmetics, hemp is one of the most versatile plants.
