107 Pancho Villa - One Minute History

Pancho Villa, originally named Jose Doroteo Arango Arambula, became a fugitive after killing a man to protect his sister. He joined the Mexican Revolution, aligning with Francisco Madero. After Madero's execution during the 10 Tragic Days, Villa continued to fight for the lower classes. Despite a military defeat at the Battle of Zelaya, which led to U.S. recognition of Carranza's government, Villa felt betrayed but persisted. He attacked Columbus, NM, becoming a wanted man, but was later pardoned by Mexico. Villa considered running for office but was assassinated before he could pose a threat to his rivals.
