The Nebular Theory, proposed by Pierre-Simon Laplace, suggests that the solar system formed from a rotating gaseous nebula. As the nebula cooled and contracted, it spun faster, leading to the formation of a flat, rotating disk. Centrifugal force caused parts of the nebula to separate, forming gas rings that eventually cooled and solidified into planets. The remaining central mass became the sun.
