VOICED : Policia desaloja con violencia a manifestantes en Honduras

On Monday, police in Honduras violently dispersed hundreds of leftist opposition protesters who were blocking toll stations on major roads. The protests occurred on the highway between the capital and San Pedro Sula, as well as exits to Lima and Puerto Cortés. At the San Brano toll booth, police used tear gas against approximately 600 demonstrators, resulting in one injury and ten temporary detentions for investigation. The protests were organized by the Liberty and Refoundation Party and the National Front of Popular Resistance, opposing the 82-cent toll fees imposed by private companies under government concessions, sometimes managed by local municipalities.
