The Giant's Causeway is a natural wonder formed by volcanic activity, but Irish mythology offers a different tale. The legend tells of Finn McCool, an Irish giant, and his rivalry with the Scottish giant Benandonner. To confront Benandonner, Finn built a bridge of stones across the sea. However, upon seeing Benandonner's size, Finn retreated. His wife, Oonagh, devised a clever plan to disguise Finn as a giant baby, tricking Benandonner into fleeing back to Scotland, destroying the bridge in his haste.
